Siobhan had some very exciting news! She couldn’t wait to share it with Graham.
“Honey guess what? Today while I was out in the park on my lunch break, a gentleman walked up to me and asked if I was Siobhan Whittaker of Dewey Cheatem & Howe Inc. I was curious who he was and told him I was and asked what this was about.”
Graham could see the excitement in his wife’s face and was eager to hear her news. “So what did he want hon?”
“He apparently works for DC&H’s rival corporation and they noticed the work I did as an assistant manager. He offered me a Regional Manager position!” She squealed.
“Oh wow Siobhan! That’s fantastic news! I’m so very proud of you and you know, I’ve thought for a long time that DC&H didn’t respect your work ethic, the long hours you’ve put in quite enough!” Graham pulled her into a warm embrace.
“I’m so glad you’re as happy about this as I am,” Siobhan whispered as she returned his hug.
“Oh course I’m happy! I’m so proud of you Shiv. You’ve worked so hard all these years, it’s time someone recognizes your ambition and talent.”
“It may mean long hours again as I get settled at the new company…” she trailed off as he silenced her with a deep kiss.
“So you know Momma got that new job right?” Graham asked his son a few nights later while they were playing chess on the upstairs patio.
“Yes Dad, she told me all about it,” Jack replied.
“Well, I’m probably going to need you to help out a bit more around here. With Emilee still being so little, we’ll need to pitch in to keep the house clean and make sure everything is done.
“Ugh, I’m not changing her diapers!” Jack laughed. “Pee yew!”
“Well, maybe just wash your dishes after you have a snack and stuff like that ok Son?”
True to his word, Jack was a bigger help around the house doing what he could to make things easier.
Jack also picked out the books for Graham to read to the kids and even moved the bassinet into the living room by himself!
“I think Emilee really likes Lord of the Swings Daddy,” Jack said handing the book to Graham.
“Oh does she? Doesn’t have anything to do with it being your favorite would it?” Graham asked his older child with a smile.
“No no, she always laughs when you do the voices!” Jack nodded at his small sister.
The family continued to grow and change as the years passed quickly.
Emilee began toddling around.
She was apparently very much a fan of chocolate cake! Graham would have to watch her and make sure she didn’t take too much! She was not happy being denied!
Even more time passed and Emilee started school and Jack was excited to show his little sister around.
Graham continued to worry about completing his objective for the Government Land Grant and Siobhan continued to work hard and climb the ranks in her career. She had been already been promoted in her new company to Senior Manager and had to be on the road even more often now visiting all the different Regional Managers.
Graham felt sometimes as if he was raising his kids alone. But he didn’t complain. He was happy when Siobhan was home and occasionally even cooked a meal for the kids.
Graham took an opportunity one day when Emilee and Jack were outside after school to get a picture of the two of them.
“Awww, that’s so cute kids, here, stand in front of the house and pose. We’ll put together a really pretty picture for Momma.”
“Ok Daddy!” Emilee grabbed her brother’s hand and went to the front of the house.
“Cheese!” both kids said together.
A/N: I may or may not have shoehorned a few toddler pictures in this chapter. I tried not to go overboard even though I LOVED the shots I took! But I couldn’t resist and these will be the only ones for this generation. ❤
